Airline prices in rubles are updated weekly on the night of Tuesday to Wednesday. Their size is affected by the exchange rate determined in accordance with the resolution of the International Air Transport Association (IATA). Life around calculated how air tickets will rise in price in a few hours.

How to calculate the exchange rate for airline tickets

IATA (International Air Transport Association) unites most of the world's airlines and is engaged in mutual settlements between market participants. These calculations occur in euros and ultimately affect the price of tickets. In accordance with these courses, international booking systems - GDS, Saber and others work.

In the case of the ruble, the Central Bank’s currency price is taken as the basis for trading on Monday, the rate is updated on the night of Tuesday to Wednesday and is valid for a week. So, before the end of the day on April 10, the Euro in the GDS system costs 71 rubles, and the dollar - 57.5 rubles. Starting April 11, the exchange rate will rise to 72 rubles per euro and 59 rubles per dollar.

At the same time, on Tuesday, exchange rates broke new highs. On April 11, the Central Bank set the euro at 76.9 rubles, and the dollar at 62.4. If currencies remain at the same level, then the IATA exchange rate is likely to be revised upward again in a week.

Against the backdrop of rising currencies, Russians began to actively search for airline tickets. According to the Biletix Internet service, the number of searches in international destinations on April 10 was 2.1 times higher than the day before. The growth in domestic demand in one day amounted to 28%. At the same time, the company has not yet noted a significant increase in airline ticket sales.
